- We collect what we need to run your account and your blogs: your email, your name, your content and your billing status.
- We never sell your data, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
- Translation text is sent to an AI provider only to produce the translation you asked for.
- AI assistants connected over MCP only get the access you approve, and you can disconnect them at any time.
1. Who we are
Kamaan ("Kamaan", "we", "our" or "us") is a content management system for product blogs and help centers, operated by Ertiqah. This policy covers kamaan.io, the Kamaan dashboard, the Kamaan REST API and the Kamaan MCP server at https://kamaan.io/mcp.
2. What we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Kamaan uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time code, so we never store a password. If you choose to sign in with Google, our sign-in provider (Auth0) shares your name, email address, profile picture and a unique account identifier with us.
Your content
Everything you add to Kamaan is stored so we can host and deliver it: sites and their settings (languages, custom domain, SEO defaults), articles and their translations, help-center collections, author profiles (name, role, bio, photo and social links you enter) and images you upload.
Team information
When you invite a teammate we store their email address, their role and the invitation status. We keep an activity log of changes made in a site (for example who published or edited an article) so your team can see what happened.
Billing information
Payments are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, your trial and subscription status, your billing period and whether a payment method is on file. We never see or store your full card number.
Developer and connector data
If you create API keys, we store a one-way hash of each key plus a short prefix so you can recognise it, never the full key. For MCP connections we store the connected client's registration details and the access and refresh tokens issued to it. We count API and MCP requests and AI usage to apply your plan limits. If you add your own OpenRouter API key for translations, it is stored encrypted and is never shown back in full.
Onboarding answers
During setup we ask a few optional questions (for example who writes your articles and which AI assistant you use) to tailor the dashboard. Your answers are stored with your account.
Waitlist
If you join a waitlist on kamaan.io, we store your email address and where you signed up.
Technical data
Like any website, our servers and our network provider process technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages, protect the service and limit repeated sign-in attempts.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To store, translate, publish and deliver your content to your websites and connected tools.
- To run subscriptions, trials and plan limits.
- To send service emails: sign-in codes, team invitations, billing and trial notices, usage alerts and onboarding emails about getting set up.
- To answer your support requests.
- To understand how the website and dashboard are used so we can improve them.
- To prevent abuse and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
4. AI translation
When you translate an article, Kamaan sends the article text (title, body and SEO fields) to OpenRouter, which passes it to the AI model provider that produces the translation. The text is sent only to generate the translation you requested. If you add your own OpenRouter key, the request runs on your key and your OpenRouter account's settings apply.
5. AI assistants and the MCP connector
You can connect AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Kamaan at https://kamaan.io/mcp. The connection uses OAuth: you sign in to Kamaan and approve the access on a consent screen before any data is shared. You can also connect with an API key you create in the dashboard.
Once connected, the assistant can, on your behalf:
- Read: list your sites and their settings, browse, search and read articles, and list help-center collections.
- Write: write, edit, translate, publish and delete articles, update SEO fields, and create, update, reorder or delete collections.
Access tokens expire after one hour and refresh tokens after 30 days. You can end access at any time by disconnecting Kamaan in your assistant, or by deleting the API key in your dashboard. What you type into an assistant, and the results it receives from Kamaan, are also handled under that assistant provider's own privacy policy.
6. Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run Kamaan, and only what they need:
- Hetzner: servers, database hosting and storage for uploaded images.
- Cloudflare: network delivery, security and inbound email for kamaan.io.
- Stripe: payments, subscriptions and the billing portal.
- Auth0: Google sign-in, when you choose it.
- OpenRouter and its AI model providers: article translation.
- Meisa (with Amazon SES): sending account and service emails. Meisa is operated by Ertiqah.
- Google Analytics: website and dashboard usage statistics.
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and our service.
8. Security
All traffic to Kamaan is encrypted with HTTPS. API keys are stored only as hashes, your own translation API key is encrypted at rest, sign-in codes expire after a short time and sessions end when you sign out or delete your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
9. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the dashboard. Deleting your account signs you out everywhere and blocks access straight away. To have the data behind a deleted account erased, email us at [email protected] and we will remove it, except for records we must keep by law (for example billing records).
10. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email [email protected] from the address on your account. You can update your name and content yourself in the dashboard at any time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children
Kamaan is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Kamaan changes. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you by email or in the dashboard.
13. Contact
